RACHEL E. BOWMAN, PH.D.
Education: Ph.D., Graduate School and University Center – CUNY (Hunter College); MA and BS, Appalachian State University
Research Interests: The effect of chronic stress on learning and memory and how the stress response is influenced by the presence of ovarian hormones; sex differences in the stress response and its impact on cognitive functioning.
Courses Usually Taught: Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences, Research Design and Analysis, Physiological Psychology, Experimental: Cognitive, Hormones and Behavior
Biography: Dr. Bowman thoroughly enjoys teaching and especially likes the challenge of integrating her areas of research expertise into the classes she teaches. Dr. Bowman maintains active research collaborations at Hunter College. She believes that many students benefit from learning experiences outside of the traditional classroom setting and encourages any students interested in gaining research experience to come and talk with her.
