ELAINE B. DAVIS, DSW
Elaine B. Davis, Associate Professor of Social Work, BA, Connecticut College; MSW, University of Connecticut; DSW, City University of New York Hunter College School of Social Work. Dr. Davis has conducted research on the involuntary client-worker relationship, child welfare services, and group work services. Her specialization in teaching focuses on human behavior, theories of human development, family systems, generalist practice, and field education. Dr. Davis maintains a high level of professional activity through her membership in the National Association of Social Workers, the Council on Social Work Education, and the Baccalaureate Program Directors' Association. Her practice experience includes work with children and families in a community-based social service agency, medical social work, residential services for individuals with developmental disabilities, and work with the elderly. Dr. Davis has been a member of the Social Work Program faculty since 1980, and served as Director of the Program from 1987 through 2008.
