CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (2006) has reported that, "Employment of social workers is expected to increase by 22 percent during the 2006-16 decade, which is much faster than the average for all occupations." Employment opportunities exist in such fields of practice as child welfare, substance abuse, health, mental health, services to the elderly, school social work, disabilities, case management, domestic violence, juvenile justice, home care, rehabilitation, and forensic social work. Graduates of the BSW Program have been highly successful in obtaining employment in the field of social work and human services, with salaries ranging from approximately $35,000 to $50,000.

During the senior year, students discuss with faculty members their career goals, including plans to attend graduate school or to seek employment following graduation. Due to numerous contacts with the practice community, the social work faculty has been helpful in directing students to agencies that hire graduates of baccalaureate social work programs.
