CARRIE SILKMAN, MS ED, ATC
Carrie Silkman received her bachelors of science in sports medicine from Castleton State College in 2000.  She went on to pursue a Masters of Science in Education with a concentration in athletic training at Old Dominion University.  There she also served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Old Dominion University working primarily with women's field hockey and women's soccer teams.  She completed research regarding ankle rehabilitation and presented her poster at the National Athletic Training Association's annual meeting in Dallas, TX in 2002. 

Ms. Silkman came to Sacred Heart University in August of 2002 and served as an assistant athletic trainer working with the field hockey and women's basketball teams for two years as well as performing as an adjunct instructor.  She is currently the Clinical Assistant Professor for the Athletic Training Program and the On-Campus Clinical Coordinator.  She also serves as the advisor for SATO, the Student Athletic Training Organization.  Additionally she helped develop a kinesiology lab to enhance the functional kinesiology classroom learning.

Ms. Silkman's interests are in the area of lower extremity rehabilitation, effectiveness of anterior cruciate ligament bracing, and nutritional habits in female athletes.
