REQUIRED AND RECOMMENDED COURSEWORK
Most Osteopathic schools require the following courses as part of the undergraduate preparation.
General Biology/or Zoology:
BI 111, 112, 113, 114
Inorganic Chemistry (General Chemistry):
CH 151, 152, 153, 154
Organic Chemistry:
CH 221, 222, 223, 224
English: 6 credits
Physics:
PY 111, 112, 113, 114
Behavioral Science requirements may be met through the CORE.
Osteopathic Medical schools also look for Communication (CA 101) and Interpersonal (CA 231) skills.
UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH AND INTERNSHIPS
Undergraduate research whether in the sciences or the humanities is strongly recommended. Internships at hospitals and clinics are also desirable. See 360 & 390 listings under your major.
