DELTA PHI KAPPA SORORITY
Founded: 1995 Colors: Burgundy and Cream Flower: Rose Mascot: Butterfly Gem: Pearl
Delta Phi Kappa is a local sorority based at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. On February 23, 1995, 19 proud, strong, women united together to establish one common goal which focused on creating Delta Phi Kappa Sorority. Our founding sisters recognized the need to serve the women within the nearby community of Bridgeport, Connecticut. The women of Delta Phi Kappa have dedicated their time and efforts to our mission statement which provides guidance and support for the young women within the community through social, educational and career empowerment.
Over the years, with our actions in community service, we exemplified the virtues that are outlined in our motto, “To Learn, To Teach, To Grow.” Today, we are proud to say that we were incorporated on June 1, 2004. We will continue to prosper and further our cause with offering our assistance to women of all ages who seek help. Although this sorority has encountered hardships in 2005 with maintaining the proper number of members needed to meet Greek Life standards, 14 women have successfully began the reactivation process on March 27, 2006 which will end September 8, 2006. Being reactivated on campus has only made us a stronger sorority as a whole. The women of Delta are fun, caring, friendly, and involved in many other activities on campus such as Cheerleading, Softball, Student Government and Track. The sisterhood of Delta Phi Kappa is something very special to each an every sister. The bonds created in any sorority or fraternity will last a lifetime. Hopefully, you are able to see that the many attributes of Delta Phi Kappa make us a unique family.
