As institutions of Catholic higher education in the United States continue to the challenges of their unique mission, many have come to identify their mission with the dissemination and ongoing development of the Catholic intellectual tradition.
In November 2000, Sacred Heart University hosted the Examining the Catholic Intellectual Tradition Conference, bringing together noted scholars from across the country for discussion on some of the issues raised in Volume 1 of Examining the Catholic Intellectual Tradition (see above) the conference brought together a number of noted Catholic scholars and participants for discussion of relevant topics.
