Sacred Heart University Concert Band
The Sacred Heart University Band program announces the creation of a new course entitled University Band (MU-136).

Availability: Open to all SHU students
**Students who have reached their maximum allotment of credits for the semester may still sign up for University Band for 0 credits without penalty.**
University Band is a new course that will meet Monday evenings in the Fall and Spring semesters. This course is new for the Fall, and replaces Concert Band that had previously been offered only in the Spring. University Band is open to all university students who play a band instrument and have a desire to perform works from the wind band repertoire.
Students interested in Marching Band should register for MU-136. Marching Band will meet Monday and Thursday evenings from 7:45-9:30pm. Beginning in October we will introduce concert music on Monday evenings, and continue to have Marching Band practice on Thursday evenings. At the end of the semester we will present a Christmas concert. In the Spring semester students interested in Pep Band should register for MU-136. On those Monday evenings when we have games we will play as a pep band. We will rehearse concert music otherwise.
This new course allows students in Marching Band to receive a band credit in the fall and spring semesters, and present both a Christmas and Spring concert. In addition, not every student is able to, or has an interest in participating in Marching Band or Pep Band. University Band allows those students the opportunity to continue to perform concert music all year long.
