The alias feature allows departments to use a shorter, more user-friendly URL (web address) for a particular page on their website. 

For example, our web usability survey URL is http://www.sacredheart.edu/pages/12012_website_feedback_survey.cfm. We wanted a shorter, cleaner URL to advertise the survey, so we created the alias http://www.sacredheart.edu/websurvey.cfm.  When the user enters this alias into the address bar of their web browser, they are directed to the web usability survey page. 

If you wish to have an alias created for any of your departmental web pages, please contact the Web Content Management department.

NOTE:  Some departments have URLs from the old SHU website that are being redirected to the new site.  Although these redirects are still active, departments should begin referring to the new URLs and aliases on the current website on all future collateral.
