JOBtoberfest 2008: This will be our third year of hosting JOBtoberfest, which is designed to be a low-stress and pain-free way to search for full-time jobs and internships 100 % ONLINE. It will begin on October 22rd and run through October 27th. Students will be able to log onto their SHU eRecruiting accounts and apply directly for the current open positions without leaving the comforts of their dorm room; and employers will receive the submitted resumes electronically … IT CAN’T GET BETTER THAN THAT!! *Remember to have your resume approved prior to the JOBtoberfest dates*
Professional Etiquette Dinner: Don't miss this outstanding event! Robert A. Shutt offers Business Dining Etiquette and Professional Etiquette presentations to colleges, universities, businesses, and professional organizations. This remains his primary mission. Robert's etiquette expertise has been featured on CBS Evening News. He presents on a national level and his message has reached thousands of students and professionals. He belongs to many professional organizations including the American Society for Training and Development. His philosophy can be simply stated: "Courtesy counts and manners matter." This presentation reviews what is expected in business dining situations. Table manner essentials are covered in an entertaining and often amusing manner. Everything is covered, including negotiating the table setting (including flatware, china and glassware), when to sit, how to napkin, when and how to pass, and the art of conversation. Skills are outlined that will help you get noticed for what you do well, not ignored because of what you do poorly. It lets "you shine through."
On-Campus Interview Program: The employers are coming to you! This fall we will have a variety of companies offering on-campus interviews for pre-selected candidates. Companies such as Ernst & Young…, will be hiring for full-time and internship positions. Check eRecruiting for a full schedule and to apply for positions that interest you. (These are not open interviews. Only candidates who apply and are selected in advance by the employers will have an opportunity to interview).
