Stephen A. Scarpati, is a Clinical Associate Professor of Accounting at Sacred Heart University.  He has taught accounting at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.  In 2009 he received the Outstanding Faculty Award from University College at Sacred Heart University. 

Mr. Scarpati came to Sacred Heart University after a 30+ year career as a senior executive in industry including 15 years as Senior Vice President – Finance at The Guardian Life Insurance Company.

Mr. Scarpati received a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and an MBA in Management, both from Fordham University.

Mr. Scarpati is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.  He is on the Editorial Board of the CPA Journal.

In 2004, Mr. Scarpati received the Journal of Accountancy Annual Literary Award from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants for the best publication in the Journal of Accountancy.
