
Dr. Michael J. Zhang, Assistant Professor of Management, received a BA from
Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in People's Republic China, an MBA from Gonzaga University, an MPA from Eastern Washington University, and a Doctor of Business Administration from Cleveland State University. Since Joining the Welch College of Business in 2001, he has been teaching strategic management, contemporary issues in global management, international business and organization management. Recently, Dr. Zhang has developed and taught a graduate course in knowledge management for the MBA students in the U.S. and Europe. His current research focuses on the strategic roles of information technology and information systems in top management capabilities, knowledge management, strategic flexibility, organizational innovation and organizational learning.
Dr. Zhang has presented papers at various national and international academic conferences including Academy of Management Meetings, Decision Sciences Institute Meetings, Global Management & Information Technology Research Conference, Asia Pacific Conference on Information Management, and Conference on Trends in Global Business. He also published articles in such academic journals as Jorunal of Management, Journal of Engineering and Technology Management, Journal of Managerial Issues, International Journal of Knowledge Management, European Journal of Innovation Management, and Journal of Business Strategies.
