ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
Dr. Anca Cristina Micu is Associate Professor of Marketing. Dr. Micu's interest is in the area of marketing communications with focus on new media. Her interests are reflected in both her teaching and research.
 
Dr. Micu has previously taught at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her Strategic Communication Research class was among the first classes at the University of Missouri to be part of the Series on Academic Transformation. The Series are organized by Educational Technologies at Missouri and inspired by the national Center for Academic Transformation located at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
 
Dr. Micu's research is in the areas of persuasion, news and advertising synergies, consumer processing of electronic communication, targeting in the online environment, and permission-based e-mail marketing. Dr. Micu presented several papers at the conferences of the American Marketing Association, American Academy of Advertising, and other national and international conferences focusing on convergence and new media. She also authored a book chapter on theories used in Internet advertising academic research. Her work has been covered in the media by specialized publications such as PCWorld.com, Yahoo!News and www.noticiasdot.com of Spain.
 
Dr. Micu earned her MBA and Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She also worked in advertising and consumer communications for BBDO Worldwide and The Estée Lauder Companies.
