Bob Marsh, Associate Professor of Management, received his Ph.D. in Operations Management from the University of Cincinnati, and an MBA from Xavier University. Dr. Marsh has over eight years of industry experience, predominately with General Electric Aircraft Engines, and two years of consulting experience. He joined Sacred Heart University in 2001 and currently teaches courses in Operations Management and Management.
Dr. Marsh's dissertation and early publications centered on operational issues of manufacturing cells. He coordinated some of the first Decision Science conference sessions on Enterprise Resource Planning. Dr. Marsh is currently conducting research applying lean process techniques to improve managerial efficiency. In particular, he is developing methods to reduce workplace interruptions.
Dr. Marsh typically presents his research annually at the national Academy of Management or Decision Sciences Institute conferences and has published in several leading Operations Management research journals including Journal of Operations Management, IIE Transactions on Scheduling and Logistics, International Journal of Technology Management, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, and International Journal of Production Research. In addition, Dr. Marsh seeks a wider audience for practitioner-based work and has published several papers in Production and Inventory Management Journal and Omega: The International Journal of Management Science.
