Dr. Peter A. Maresco is Clinical Assistant Professor at the John F. Welch College of Business. He holds a Ph.D. from Walden University, an M.A. Corporate and Political Communication from Fairfield University and a B.A. in History from the University of Charleston in West Virginia. He holds teaching certification from the State of Connecticut and has taken courses from the School of Bank Marketing and the Advanced School of Bank Marketing at the University of Colorado in Boulder and the Connecticut School of Savings Banking.
His professional experience includes the former Mechanics and Farmers Savings Bank FSB of Bridgeport, Connecticut, a federally chartered mutual savings bank founded in 1872, where he left as Vice President for Marketing and Corporate and Public Communications. At the time of its takeover by CHASE Bank of Connecticut on August 9, 1991, it had recorded assets in excess of $1.5 billion. The bank employed 375 staff and officers.
Dr. Maresco is involved with various community organizations including the boards of the University of Bridgeport, the Visiting Nurses Association of Fairfield County and the Connecticut Grand Opera. He also served as President of the Barnum Festival, one of the largest festivals and parades in the country honoring the memory of P.T.Barnum.
Dr. Maresco is actively involved in writing for the profession with 5 peer reviewed journal articles accepted for publication, 5 book reviews published as well as various contributions to books and articles ready for publication.
