Joshua A. Shuart, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Management, received his Ph.D. in Sport Management from the University of Connecticut, an MA in English from St. Bonaventure University, and a BA in Communication Arts from Grove City College.

Dr. Shuart's expertise and scholarly interests include celebrity endorsement, sport marketing, and sport & entertainment sponsorship. He is a member of the American Marketing Association, Sport Marketing Association, and North American Society for Sport Management.

Dr. Shuart has taught the following courses: SM265: Sport Marketing, SM245: Sport Media, SM281: Sport Facility & Event Management, SM206: Sport Enterprise Management, MK261: Principles of Marketing.

Prior to coming to Sacred Heart University, Professor Shuart worked as a Research Associate with the Laboratory for Leisure, Tourism & Sport in Storrs, CT. In 2003, he was named a Sam M. Walton Free Enterprise Fellow and actively works with students as a Faculty Advisor to the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) and as Faculty Mentor to the Men's Baseball team at Sacred Heart.

Dr. Shuart remains current with the corporate world as President of his own sport and entertainment research firm, and his business dealings have landed him in the mix with ESPN.COM, The Sport Business Journal, numerous noteworthy celebrities, and an appearance on international television. Dr. Shuart is the Associate Editor of the New England Journal of Entrepreneurship.
