
Ako Doffou, PhD, CFA,
Associate Professor of Finance, received a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Georgia (USA), an MBA from INSEAD, an MS in Power Systems Engineering from SUPELEC (Paris, France), and a BS in Electrical Engineering from ESIGELEC (Rouen, France). He holds the CFA, CLU, and ChFC Charters as well as the CFP and CFS Professional Certifications. Dr. Doffou's expertise and scholarly interests include Investments, Derivatives, Asset Pricing, and Asset-Liability Management.
Dr. Doffou's career track includes President and Founder of Doffou & Associates, a registered investment advisory firm in California, SEC file # 801-42836; Assistant Finance Director for the Electric Energy of the Ivory Coast, a 4000 staff energy producer; Financial Analyst for Banque Nationale de Paris, Paris, France; Electrical Engineer for CGEE Alsthom and Merlin Gerin, Paris and Grenoble, France; Assistant Professor of Finance, the University of Texas; Associate Professor of Finance, State University of New York; and Visiting Associate Professor of Finance, Claremont Graduate University.
Dr. Doffou is the recipient of the 1999 Financial Management Association (FMA) Best Paper Award in Futures/Options on Futures, sponsored by the Chicago Board of Trade Educational Research Foundation; and the 2000 FMA Best Dissertation Award in Investments, sponsored by the American Association of Individual Investors. His research appears in several leading finance refereed journals such as Advances in Futures and Options Research, Journal of Risk, Journal of Financial Research, and Research In Finance. He is a member of the American Finance Association and the Financial Management Association International.
