History and Historical Memory

Jews and Christians believe that G-d acts in history and ultimate meaning can be found in these actions. Many of the most important advances in Christian-Jewish understanding have involved engagement with the often tortured history between the two faiths. What should Jews and Christians know about each other's historical traditions?
