"Sacred Heart University's John F. Welch College of Business School stands out, primarily because of the intimacy that a small classroom setting provides. Professors genuinely care about giving students the foundation they need to build a successful business career, and have the practical experience that truly defines an educational ‘expert'. Most impressing is that typically, the relationship extends beyond graduation day. I still have dinner, discuss career progression, and even bounce investment ideas off of some of my SHU professors."

"I feel that the Sacred Heart University John F. Welch College of Business is one of the best up and coming business schools in the country. I am a Finance major and have participated in the Federal Reserve College Federal Challenge in 2004 and again in 2005 when we presented in Boston, Massachusetts. Harvard, Northeastern University and Boston College were some of the other participants. The opportunity was one of many the great experiences I have been lucky to be a part of while attending Sacred Heart University.
The University offers a wide range of Finance curriculum that seriously addresses the growing field and many of the different current issues. The business faculty has been welcoming and eager to pass on a genuine enthusiasm for the subject matter, ready to answer questions or stay late should there be a question. Graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Finance from Sacred Heart University, I feel that I will have established a solid foundation in the fundamentals of finance and ready to apply all that I have learned in my time at Sacred Heart University."

"My experiences and education at Sacred Heart University changed my life. The professors, who were both my mentors and friends, took a personal interest in me and my future. They care. They are good people. They are also among the brightest economics and finance professionals that I have had the good fortune to be around. I cannot imagine getting a better education anywhere. "

"Sacred Heart University's John F. Welch College of Business gave me the opportunity to interact with some of the leading experts in various academic fields, as well as with young brilliant minds. The Economics
and Finance specialization is both intense and stimulating, and helped prepare me for a number of corporate experiences at companies such as GE Capital, ING Bank and MasterCard International. Prospective students will find that whether through the structured classroom approach or the more relaxed group discussion setting, Sacred Heart's John F. Welch College of Business MBA program encourages participants to think and engage in rich dialogue with professors and peers. Additionally, the delicate mix of theoretical and practical real world applications, coupled with a core curriculum approach that encourages critical and strategic thinking was invaluable in my later corporate career development.
For me, this was truly a rewarding and beneficial experience, with small graduate classes, easy access to professors, a rigorous, challenging program that is focused around student's desire to learn and current trends in business and economics. Additionally, classroom exposure to some of my professors' active research stirred my curiosity and was a motivating factor in my decision to pursue additional graduate studies after my Sacred Heart University experience."

"The financial services industry is highly competitive. A strong education plus hands-on experience will help you stand out from the crowd during the first round of interviews at most retail and institutional financial firms. Sacred Heart University provided me with an excellent academic foundation as well as many of the critical skills needed to succeed in this business. In particular, Corporate Finance taught me essential skills in Microsoft Excel. Investments and International Finance gave me an overview of the stock market and the industry as a whole.
During my years at SHU, I discovered that some of the greatest learning comes through hands-on experience. In my junior year, I did a finance internship at Merrill Lynch in Stamford CT, working with the First Vice President and three other financial advisors in the Private Client Group. In my senior year, I interned at Graphic Savings Group, a cash flow management consulting firm in Fairfield, CT. Through these internships, I learned how to follow economic and market-related information, analyze lease portfolios, develop business plans, and review the performance of a client's investments and develop recommendations for more diversified allocation.
In June 2004, I started working as a Financial Analyst at UBS Investment Bank in Stamford, CT. My job included daily P&L preparation and reporting, P&L and balance sheet reconciliation, calculating and verifying reserves, variance analyses to account for material changes in P&L and balance sheet accounts, as well as completing requests from traders and business management. I currently work at Morgan Stanley as an Executive Assistant and Analyst for the Chief Operating Officer of the US Client Coverage Group, where I act as liaison for the Legal, Compliance, Branch Advocate, Operations and Technology departments. I am studying for the series 7 exam and plan to take the series 63 in the near future."
