Research Interests: Explore contributions of the Greek mathematicians. Provide geometric background and interpretation of mathematical concepts. Have students appreciate, comprehend and succeed in their mathematical courses. Assist students in their individual research work.

Biography: Professor Silva strives to help students appreciate mathematics. She enthusiastically instills in her students a desire to succeed and comprehend the mathematical concepts taught. Her office door is always open for students to come to reinforce a concept, clarify an example, verify solutions, and provide supplementary problems.
