WELCOME TO THE OFFICE OF INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH
The Office of Institutional Research supports all phases of University operations requiring research-generated information and assists the University in the overall assessment of the effectiveness of its mission and programs. Under the direction of the Director, Dr. Xiaomei Feng, the Office gathers data, performs statistical analysis, and prepares informational reports to support administrative planning, management, decision-making and program evaluation.

General Responsibilities:

  • Maintains up-to-date statistics on all aspects of the University;

  • Provides research support for accreditation reviews, academic program reviews and other University surveys;

  • Compiles general University data and prepare reports needed to comply with Federal and State requirements as well as those of other agencies and internal departments;

  • Responds to external requests for data and institutional information from various governmental and quasi-governmental agencies and provide statistics needed for University publications;

  • Maintains a database of comparative institutional statistics for Sacred Heart University and other colleges/universities;

  • Assists colleges and offices/departments in the creation of surveys and other assessment/evaluation tools; and

Supports various University offices/committees to offer statistical or data-oriented input and analysis.
