Employee of the Month

Campus Operations is one of the largest non-academic departments on campus. There are 80 staff members performing various maintenance, technical, custodial and administrative responsibilities, who work 24-7 to maintain the proper operation and condition of all University facilities (on and off campus).

The Director and Managers realize that Campus Operations staff can sometimes be overlooked and their daily accomplishments not recognized.  A monthly program of employee recognition has been established so that there can be a Departmental awareness of an individual's above average contribution to the good workings of the Campus Operations  staff.  

The staff member to be Employee of the Month is chosen from among monthly nominations submitted to the Director by divisional  managers, and voted upon at a regular monthly management meeting. Voting is based upon the following criteria:  (1) attendance / punctuality;  (2) willingness to accept new responsibilities and being most helpful; (3) work performance and productivity;  (4) how well he/she gets along with workers and other staff;  (5) demonstrates good safety habits;  (6) exhibits professionalism in completing work assignments.

The Employee of the Month recipient is awarded the following:  a specially engraved certificate; a gift certificate to a place of choice; SHU logo gifts; name engraved on EOM plaque and picture posted opposite the entrance to FLIK.
