On of our physical therapists has extensive training and experience in the assessment and treatment of balance and vestibular disorders. They have published research in this area making them uniquely qualified to identify and treat the underlying source of balance problems and dizziness.
Our Trumbull and Fairfield practice offers the distinction of providing this outpatient rehabilitation service. Our physical therapist uses techniques that are well supported by research to eliminate or ease the risk and fear of falling, and improve mobility. Our therapists also use a wide variety of very successful interventions to resolve or improve dizziness and vestibular diseases.

Our physical therapists are highly experienced in rehabilitating people with athletic injuries, including being certified athletic trainers. Our programs are designed initially to help you recover from the acute stage of your injury. We then progress you over time with more challenging exercise techniques that are designed to simulate the movements required in your sport. As these exercises are advanced you are not only rehabilitating your injured body part but you are also preparing your whole body for return to your sport.

Each of the different neurological disorders requires specific approaches and interventions. Our board-certified physical therapy specialist is trained in managing neurological disorders to maximize function and minimize the disability through specific exercises and training activities. Patients’ programs are individually designed to address the specific neurological deficits. These treatments include exercise programs that are safe and effective without risk of injury as well as regular reassessments of adaptive equipment.

Recovering from an amputation is a challenging process. Each patient with an amputation has a unique set of issues and challenges. We have several therapists with advanced training and experience in rehabilitating people following amputations of their legs. They have published a chapter on the rehabilitation of people following amputation. Our treatments are individualized, evidenced based, and focus on teaching you how to use your prosthesis the most safe and effective way. Our goal is to return you to the highest, safe activity level possible for you.
DID YOU KNOW: Aquatic Rehabilitation can be a very effective way to start working on injured and painful problems utilizing the assistance or resistance of water.
DO YOU HAVE: difficulty doing exercises on land because of pain or difficulty when standing upright?
Our Fairfield location offers the only therapeutic pool in the area, with private individualized programs designed and run by licensed physical therapists to address impaired walking ability and movement due to muscle weakness or neurological disorders; joint pain and stiffness due to Rheumatoid or Osteoarthritis; or post-operative spinal or lower extremity joint replacement surgery. This therapy can be an excellent start to a more progressive advancing rehabilitation program if you need initially to be in the body-weight reduced environment that water allows.
