Passport Day

Are you thinking of studying or traveling abroad? If so, you’re going to need a passport. We will be hosting a Passport Day in the lobby of SHUPAD (Sacred Heart University Print & Delivery aka the mailroom) on Monday, September 22nd between the hours of 10AM and 3PM.

The Postal Service will be on site to process passport applications and to take passport photos. The USPS bundles the applications and photos together and sends them to the State Department for processing.  It takes up to 6 weeks to receive your passport in the mail (but our experience has been a little over 2 weeks for you to receive your passport).

Go to the Department of State website for more information. All the information you need can be found there.

The application fee is $110. The execution fee is $25. If you need photos the cost is $15.

The Postal Service will accept cash or checks only (no credit cards or SHU ID’s).

You will need to bring at least 2 checks (one for the Department of State and one for the USPS). You will need a picture ID and an official birth certificate.

For those of you who would like to renew your passport. You can do so, but you would save yourself the $25 execution fee if you followed the instructions for renewals on the web site and processed the application yourself.

Passport Day is open to all members of the SHU community, family, friends, and neighbors.
