Walking Routes & Trails

The Running Club
Led by Brendan Rickert of the Life and Sport Analysis Clinic (LSAC), you will meet once a week on Sunday at 9am at a different location in the area of SHU to go for a run. It is highly encouraged that ALL ability types come out and start running! You will receive free training tips and advice from Brendan while attending the sessions. First meeting will be from LSAC’s headquarters at the Oakview Campus.  The group will focus on a race in the future to train for as well. For more information or sign up, email EmployeeWellnessProg@sacredheart.edu

Walking Group
There will be a walking group meeting outside of the McMahon Commons lower level entrance at 12:15 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The goal will be to walk at least 1 mile in 30 minutes.  Below are maps showing various routes and the distances around campus. Tip:  Bring a pair of sneakers or walking shoes to leave in your office.  No excuses!

Housatonic Rail-Trail Destination Walk
Join your fellow SHU employees for a group destination walk at the Housatonic Rail to Trail. This distance can be anywhere from 1 to 5.2 miles.

Trumbull, Parking & Trail Access:
To park near the old town hall, take State Route 25 to Exit 9 and turn south on Daniel's Farm Road. At the light, take a right on State Route 127, followed by an immediate right on Tait Road (not Tait's Mill Road) to the designated parking area beside the old town hall (now called the Helen Plumb Building). The trailhead lies 50 yards down the road on the left.
