Employer Guidelines/Policy

The Sacred Heart University Career Development and Placement Center reserves the right to limit or deny any employer from campus visits, job postings and or sponsorship, should legal and ethical situations arise during their partnership with the Center. The SHU Career Development and Placement Center also reserves the right to deny employers from services if they require any investment by the student, use multi-level marketing plans as a means of developing business, or require the use of any other questionable business practices. Such determinations will be made at the sole discretion of the SHU Career Development and Placement Center.

Employers recruiting for employment that is outside the USA…must support the equal employment opportunity (EEO) policy of the career services office. These employers are expected to advise the career services office staff as well as students about the realities of working in a particular country and of any cultural and foreign law differences.

Find out about the different recruiting options at Sacred Heart and learn how internships can be both a recruiting tool and solution for short term staffing needs.

Important Parking Information for Our Employer Partners

As some of you may know, we are beginning the construction of a new residence hall on campus and a new academic building just across the street. While this new growth is exciting, it also carries some temporary challenges. Until further notice, all visitors parking on campus must be registered in advance to receive a parking permit. If you would like to come visit us on campus, please let us know and we can reserve a space for you. Our public safety staff requires 48 hours’ notice.

If you are coming to campus for on-campus interviews, we will be in touch in advance to arrange for your needs based on the number of recruiters attending. If you are coming on campus for a larger event like a career fair we will have separate arrangements made for those events and will alert you in advance.

Thank you for your continued support of Sacred Heart University and our students, and for your patience during this time of construction. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Michael Twerago at tweragom@sacredheart.edu or 203-365-4736.
