Sacred Heart University issues all student refunds through electronic funds transfer (EFT). The University has partnered with Higher One, Inc., a financial services company focused solely on higher education to bring this new method of refund disbursement to campus. This service provides higher education institutions and their students with efficient, convenient and easy-to-use solutions to handle financial disbursements.
The Pioneer Plus Card program provides SHU students with increased choice when it comes to receiving their financial aid or school refunds. The University releases funds electronically to the student’s existing bank account through ACH transfer or directly to their Pioneer Plus Card.
What Students Need to Do
The Pioneer Plus Card is mailed to each newly registered student’s current home address on file with SHU in a bright green envelope with the Sacred Heart University shield visible in the address window. DO NOT THROW THIS ENVELOPE AWAY. The envelope contains a Pioneer Plus Card which is your access key to the registration website. This is where you will select your refund preference. Therefore, it is critical that all students verify their current home address through WebAdvisor as soon as possible.
