"Being a student here at Sacred Heart University has been nothing but beneficial. This University offers so many different programs and ways to get involved. They are constantly promoting giving back to the community and offer so many ways to do so. On campus, everyone at SHU is so welcoming and you can always see a friendly face. This brings a sense of comfort while being away from home and I could not ask for anything more!

I declared my Nursing major my freshman year as I came into Sacred Heart University's Nursing program. Sacred Heart's reputable program was one of the driving forces that led me to choosing this university. Although the program is tough, it has forced me to push myself and work harder than I ever had before. It has instilled a work ethic in me that I know will only continue to grow over my next two years at SHU. The Nursing school has provided me with the hands on experience that I know I will use in my future career and will continue to build me into the person that I need to be to become a successful nurse.

Outside of the classroom, I am a member of Sacred Heart University's Dance Team. Dance has been a part of my life since I was three years old, so the fact that I am still able to pursue my passion throughout college has been a blessing. This team has brought me some of my best friends and has been a community of support. It has taught me how to balance my school work with other activities, and has instilled hard work and commitment in my life.

I am extremely grateful to have received this scholarship. I am so lucky to have an opportunity to attend this school. University's and Colleges today are not always the most affordable, especially private institutions like Sacred Heart, so every little bit helps financially. The school has provided me with so many great opportunities and I can only imagine what is to come in the next two years. I am beyond blessed to be pursuing my nursing career. Thank you for helping me to continue to grow and learn at Sacred Heart University!"

Major: Finance

"What I love most about the SHU community is how friendly everybody is. From the professors, to the dining hall workers, to the students. Wherever you go, everyone always has a smile on their face and never fails to make your day. One of my professional goals is to make the dean's list. My Finance major has helped me work towards this because my classes motivate me everyday. I am a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha. Not only did I gain new friends, but I also gained over one hundred sisters for life. I know I can go to any of my sisters at any time, and they will always be there for me. I love being able to give back and support our philanthropy, breast cancer.

Thank you so much for this scholarship. My father is retired and my mother works full time 7 days a week. At times, it can be hard figuring out how to pay for school. This scholarship truly helped us pay for my education. I am very honored to be a recipient!"
