Carmen Tortora Nursing Scholarship
The Carmen Tortora Nursing Scholarship was created in 1983 by Mr. Carmen Tortora. This scholarship is intended for full-time nursing students with demonstrated financial need and who demonstrate a dedication to the field of Nursing.

"I love the close knit community here at Sacred Heart University. Everywhere you go there is at least one friendly face and SHU truly feels like a home away from home. I am a Nursing major and my professional goal is to become a nurse either in the labor and delivery or postpartum unit. I studied abroad in Dingle, Ireland, an amazing experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. Getting the opportunity to study abroad allowed me to get out of my comfort zone; I experienced new things and met so many different people. I also got to have clinical experience while in Ireland and was able to experience firsthand the differences between nursing in Ireland and the United States. I am truly honored and humbled to have received this scholarship. As a recipient of this scholarship, I am able to continue my nursing education. With your generous scholarship, I am one step closer to achieving my dream. Thank you so much for your scholarship, which has contributed enormously to my nursing education.
