Why'd you choose SHU?

Coach Bolis came to visit Washington Township High School during my senior year of high school and pitched me on the idea of becoming a Pioneer. After my official visit, I realized Sacred Heart had much more to offer than just football. I knew I wanted to focus on business so the opportunity to attend one of the best business schools in the Northeast was very attractive. Secondly, my host and future teammates immediately made me feel like I was part of a big football family. Third, given my major (accounting/finance), I liked how close Fairfield, CT was to New York City. Fourth, the campus was very attractive and had plans for more growth. Lastly, I had a coach that believed in me and my athletic ability.

What do you do now ?

I work for a commercial real estate firm, Norton Capital, alongside former Pioneer, Brandon Norton. In 2021, our company procured over 500,000 SF in off-market, value-add investments for developer clients.

In addition, we broke multiple national cap rates records on the disposition of net lease properties. Most recently, we sold the highest price PSF and lowest cap rate ever recorded for Grocery Outlet. The property transacted at a 4.2% cap with a NN lease.

A word of advice to current underrepresented SHU students

Try to learn about as many subjects as possible so that you can widen your knowledge across different sectors. Find out what you like and don't like. Figure out the problems in the world and what people complain about the most and find solutions for them. Oftentimes, the greatest change in the world comes from underrepresented students. There is no difference between you and the person you wanted to become. Believe in yourself more than you believed in Santa when you were little. Have faith. Trust God. Pray. Pray. Pray.
