Caroline House is located on the East side of Bridgeport and is an educational center for women. Skilled volunteers are needed to teach English as a second language, writing and reading skills to women who want to enter the workforce for the first time. Volunteers are also needed to watch over the women's pre-school children while they are in class. SHU students have taught computer classes and have also done painting and clean up projects as well as special visits to the zoo, the park, etc. for the families.

Early Childhood Program: Women who attend Caroline House can have their preschool children participate in this program. The goal of this program is to have the children sufficiently able to attend all English speaking classes when they enroll in school.
