First-year students who are interested in Communications will spend the week getting an insider’s look into the lively media industries of New York City and Connecticut. Communications professors, graduate student advisors and upperclassmen will join you on day trips to exciting locations like NBC Studios in Stamford, The Dan Patrick Show in Bristol, and the Museum of the Moving Image in NYC as we get a behind the scenes look at television production and engage with the world of contemporary media. Students will also spend time getting oriented to our new production facilities, including our two television studios and control rooms, screening rooms, editing, VR and motion capture labs, etc. Students will create short video productions based on our experiences. No prior production experience is necessary - just an interest in the exciting world of the film and television industries!
