Freshmen Residence Halls

All first-year students will live in well developed communities with a great deal of staff/student interaction. The staff are readily available and will keep a close eye on the needs of every individual. Centrally located to the heart of campus, Elizabeth Ann Seton Hall, Thomas Merton Hall and Angelo Roncalli Hall house the entire freshmen residential class in double and triple occupancy rooms. Each hall has its own unique features and should be thoroughly explored before selecting your preference during your Housing Application. In an effort to help you make an informative decision, we have provided a brief description of each hall below.

Seton Hall

Located in the heart of campus, Seton Hall houses over 400 first-year students in a traditional corridor style building. Staffed with 12 student Resident Success Assistants and 1 Residence Hall Director, Seton Hall is a great environment for first-year students to get to know each other and prepare for academic success.

Merton Hall

Right next door to Seton Hall, Merton Hall houses over 300 first-year students in a traditional corridor style building. Staffed with 11 student Resident Success Assistants and 1 Residence Hall Director, Merton Hall is a great environment for first-year students to get to know each other and prepare for academic success.

Roncalli Hall

Just across the street from the main academic building, Roncalli Hall houses over 350 first-year and sophomore residential students in a suite style building. Staffed with 11 student Resident Assistants and 1 Residence Hall Director, Roncalli Hall is a great environment for first-year students to get to know each other and prepare for academic success. Home to the Living Learning Honors Program, the Welch College of Business Living Learning Community, the SHU-Wellness Living Learning Community, and the Social Justice Living Learning Community, Roncalli Hall allows students to continue their classroom conversations in the Residence Hall, aiding in their academic success at the university.
