Thank you for your interest in transferring to Sacred Heart. Below you will find more information that will help get you through the transfer process from start to finish. If you have any questions as you are working through the admission process, please feel free to reach out to one of the transfer counselors.

Application Deadlines

Spring 2017: 

 Priority Application deadline for entry into the spring semester is
 December 1st.

Fall 2017: 

 Priority Application deadline for entry into the fall semester is
 May 1st. 

Applications that come in after the priority deadline will be handled on an individual basis. Please reach out to an admissions counselor before you apply to check on the availability.

Application Process

For full time transfer students

Complete an online application

  1. Send in official college transcripts from any/all previous college institutions attended
  2. Send in official final high school transcripts
  3. Letter of recommendation from a professor, counselor, advisor or employer
  4. $50 application fee

For students looking to transfer into the Nursing Program

Currently, we are at capacity for the incoming nursing class for this fall. If you are interested in our nursing program as a transfer applicant for the Fall 2017, please complete the nursing survey and contact Jamie Romeo at 203-610-9500 or romeoj@sacredheart.edu

For International students

For students looking to go part time

Create an account, complete an online application

  1. Send in official college transcripts from any/all previous college institutions attended
  2. Send in official final high school transcripts or GED
  3. Provide documentation of adequate immunization against measles and rubella.

For visiting students

 

Students who have never taken a course(s) at Sacred Heart University and have not applied to the university must complete the Visiting Student Form.

Once you have created your account via the Visiting Student form above, you will receive a confirmation with the part-time undergraduate registration form attached to it. Completely fill out both sides of this form and fax back to 203-365-4458 or scan and email to pitchera@sacredheart.edu.

Credit Evaluations

Your credit evaluation will be completed by our Registrar’s Office after you are accepted to the University.  The credit evaluation will be mailed or emailed to you once it is completed. These credits will be put on your official transcript once all official final college transcripts have been received.

A maximum of sixty-six (66) credits may be applied to a baccalaureate degree from a two-year college and a maximum of ninety (90) credits may be applied from a four-year college or university. The overall number of courses needed for a degree may exceed 120 credits.

Financial Aid

Once you are accepted into Sacred Heart University, please go to SHUawards. To activate your account, enter your seven-digit Student ID number found at the top of your acceptance letter and follow the prompts to create your PIN. This will allow you to monitor your award, review required information and pending documents or forms
