POSITION TITLE: Office Assistant Date: Sept 2012 - May 2013

REPORTS TO: Julia Nofri, Michele Ellis
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Assist the manager with tuition programs, filing, data entry, some typing, word processing, new hire packages, copying, shredding, & other duties as requested.
Located: E-Lite Building, 2285 Reservoir Avenue, Trumbull, CT.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):

  • Filing and scanning as needed
  • Creating and updating documents and spreadsheets
  • Assembling new hire orientation kits and determining the quantity of materials needed
  • Assembling new employee policy handbooks
  • Organizing materials or information for major HR events, with the expectation to work/attend those events if schedule allows
  • Exposure and/or training on internal HR software applications as needed to assist in certain workflows (i.e. Interview Exchange)
  • Copying/Shredding
  • Other duties as requested
EXPECTED HOURS:
Flexible to student's schedule. Normal operating hours are 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a responsible and professional student with the following skills and qualifications:
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Some administrative office experience preferred
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Detail oriented
  • Must maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive materials which may be viewed or filed
  • Upperclassmen preffered
  • Must have a car/way to get to job (SHU shuttle does not stop at location)
