What is a Graduate Assistant?
Graduate Assistants provide services such as administrative and faculty support. In return, these students are eligible to receive a tuition waiver, stipend, insurance, and in some cases, a meal plan. Students seeking GA positions must be formally accepted as a full-time or part-time student at Sacred Heart University. Additionally there is a limit to the number assistantships (GA) and other job opportunities. Per Sacred Heart University Human Resources Department, employees of SHU or dependents of a SHU employee cannot obtain a GA position.
