Financial Planning Certificate

Certified Financial Planners (CFP®) work with individuals and families to advise and help them plan for a solid financial future. They provide guidance in areas including insurance, savings, investments, asset management, and retirement planning.

This program is geared towards individuals:

  • working in the financial planning field and would like to achieve certification
  • changing careers
  • seeking to understand a segment of the financial planning process for their own enrichment

There are six courses in the program. Each class will meet at the Stamford campus once a week for 12 weeks.

Meet the Faculty

Dr. Paul Rivera

Dr. Paul Rivera received his doctorate in Finance & International Business and his MBA from Pace University (1985). He received his Bachelors of Science in Electrical & Computing Engineering from Manhattan College (1967).Dr. Rivera has over 30 years of experience in teaching as an adjunct instructor in Financial Planning and has worked for American Brands, Inc., the Xerox Corporation, and GTE International, Inc.
