FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sacred Heart University recently inducted 11 new students into the Alpha Sigma Lambda (ASL) National Continuing Education Honor Society, which honors nontraditional adult learners. Membership is reserved for students with a minimum of 24 credit hours at SHU who maintain a GPA of at least 3.2. Twelve of those credits must be in the liberal arts. These students have achieved academic excellence while balancing the demands of professional and personal life, along with their education.
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sacred Heart University will offer English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at its Stamford Graduate Center beginning this fall. “We believe there is a huge need with the international community in Stamford,” says Professor Madeleine Golda, director of SHU’s ESL program. “Au pairs, health care professionals, international students, employees and families of employees working for of international businesses are some of the folks who might benefit from this program.” She notes that the Graduate Center is ideally located near restaurants and shopping as well as near the train station, so it will be convenient for residents of Westchester County to take advantage of the program.
FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Sacred Heart University’s University College is partnering with local businesses to help inform their employees about opportunities to further their education at SHU. The Education Partnership Program is spearheaded by Ellen Kovar, director of Corporate Recruitment for University College.
