Admission Requirements

No previous media production experience or communications coursework is required to complete the BJMP Program, and we encourage all motivated learners from any undergraduate major or career to apply. Accepted students will take an online pre-assessment survey and, if necessary, will attend the appropriate BJMP training workshops to ensure their success in the program.

The following documents must be submitted and will be considered when applying:

  • Online Application

  • Non-refundable application fee

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

  • Official transcripts from all undergraduate institutions attended. Sacred Heart University students and alumni may authorize the Office of Graduate Admissions to obtain their official SHU transcripts on their behalf

  • Personal statement: a one-page statement describing career goals and reasons for interest in the program. Please include your intended concentration area within your essay.

  • Two letters of recommendation

  • Professional résumé
