Brian Benson, a senior, is a double major in sport management and business administration. Originally from Westwood, Massachusetts, sports have always been part of his life. In order to augment his academic studies, Brian has participated in numerous internships in the sports industry. During the summer of 2011, Brian interned at Good Sports in Quincy, Massachusetts, where he worked on research and development while reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. Good Sports, a non- profit organization, provides disadvantaged youth with the necessary sports equipment in order to set the foundation for healthy, active lifestyles. One of Brian’s most memorable experiences was studying abroad during the May short- term program in Dingle, Ireland. Brian also participates in a read aloud program at Bridgeport elementary schools and is a member of Phi Eta Sigma, a freshman honor society. After graduation, Brian aspires to work for a professional sports team while pursuing his graduate school education. |

Marc Bitterman is a senior at Sacred Heart University and is majoring in finance and economics with a minor in accounting. He is originally from Sloatsburg, New York where he serves as an interior and exterior firefighter. He is also actively involved on campus in many different capacities. He has been inducted into the freshman honor society. He has been a resident assistant for the last 3 years. He was a founding father of his fraternity Pi Kappa Phi Iota Alpha chapter at Sacred Heart. He also served as the treasurer of his fraternity preparing various budgets as well as tax returns. Marc also serves as an assistant to Jamie Romeo the Dean of Undergraduate Admissions. Marc is also a tutor assisting the athletes of the 31 division one athletic programs Sacred Heart has. He has also been actively involved in the Finance Club, Accounting Club, History Club as well as serving as student government class senator. This past summer Marc interned with Bloomberg Financial with great success and upon graduation plans on working there full time. |

Catherine Martinez is a junior at Sacred Heart University. She double majors in Finance and Business Economics, with a minor in Political Science. Catherine is from Holbrook, New York. Recently Catherine has completed an internship with Target this past summer and was asked to come back to their “Advanced Internship Program” for next summer. In even more recent times, she was just accepted into the ICR, Integrated Corporate Communications, internship program in Norwalk, Connecticut. Catherine is a member of the Student Government, Executive Board as Secretary. In addition, she is the President of Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow, better known as STAT, and is an active member in the Student Investment Group. This past summer, Catherine applied and was accepted to the Investment Management Program at Sacred Heart University, to partner up with the Stamford CFA society to prepare for the Level 1 CFA Exam. Catherine is also a Welch Mentor, to incoming Freshman Business students. Upon graduation from Sacred Heart University, Catherine plans to be working in either Wealth Management or Investment Management at a financial firm. Also while working, she will be going to receive her Masters in Business Administration. Then upon receiving her Master’s degree she aspires to go to Law School and become a corporate lawyer. |

Jeremiah German is an accounting major with an honors minor. He is from the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Over the summer he completed an audit internship with the international accounting firm KPMG. While at school he participates in Sacred Heart's nationally ranked radio dj club, serves as mentor to the freshmen class, and volunteers at the Lawrence A. Dunbar elementary school. Jeremiah is the epee squad captain for SHU's division 1 fencing team, as well as one of the team representatives to the student athlete advisory committee. He plans to continue his graduate education at Sacred Heart and pursue a CPA and CMA licenses and ultimately seek employment with one of the big four accounting firms. |

Bryan Harmon, a junior at Sacred Heart University from Dobbs Ferry, New York, is pursuing a double major in finance and economics with a minor in the Thomas Moore Honors Program. He is well versed in the challenges of being an entrepreneur, having owned and operated his own bicycle sales and repair business for over 14 years. In addition, he has extensive experience in real estate, managing and operating residential properties. During his limited free time, Bryan is an accomplished mechanic who enjoys the challenges of repairing, refurbishing, and customizing automobiles. Bryan has been associated with the Residential Life Department at Sacred Heart for over two years in his role as both Resident Assistant and programming budget manager. He currently is on Sacred Heart’s Federal Reserve Challenge team, which will compete against the area’s top schools in November. During the summer of his sophomore year, Bryan interned at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, one of the largest financial services firms in the world. He continues to work there throughout the school year in anticipation of acquiring full time employment post graduation. |

Megan Papp is an accounting major, from East Lyme, Connecticut. She is a member of the varsity cross country, indoor and outdoor track teams. Aside from that she is a student athlete representative for her teams, a junior mentor for the business school, a tutor in mathematics, and has completed two full years of work at the University in the Admissions Office. Megan volunteers weekly at the Dunbar school in Bridgeport acting as a mentor and assists children in the class room. Megan has also been awarded with other scholarships such as the John Starks Scholarship and the New London Community Scholarship. Megan has upheld a constant GPA earning a spot on the Dean’s list consistently. Megan is in the process of landing an internship for the summer from her junior to senior year. After graduating, Megan plans to earn her title as a certified public accountant and plans to start at an accounting firm and continue to grow within her field. |

Elisabeth Pitruzzella is from Connecticut. She is a junior with a double major in finance and a business administration with a concentration in either International Business or Fashion. She was the first student to be featured in the Welch Spotlight. Currently she serves as treasurer on the Student Government board for the Class of 2013, the president of the Fashion club, recruitment director of the Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow club, and a SHU blogger. She is also a published writer who co-wrote a book with her mom www.PopularityGenieInABottle.com. Elisabeth wishes to enroll in the master degree here at SHU and to combine her business skills with her passion for fashion to one day manage a fashion company or become the CEO of her own fashion company someday. |

Katie Slaughter is an accounting and finance double major at Sacred Heart. She is a member of the Investment Management Program, as well as participates in Concert Choir and Sacred Heart’s Ladies Only Vocal Ensemble (SHU L.O.V.E). She enjoys teaching, and she is a tutor for accounting and finance classes and has also taught business to students at her local elementary school. Katie is a Junior Mentor for a group of freshman and will be working this year to help ease their transition into college and involve them in the John F. Welch College of Business. This past summer she did an internship at McGladrey, where she worked in the tax department and had the opportunity to prepare tax returns for many different entities as well as work on other accounting projects. She has also worked at Sacred Heart for the past three years in the business department. |

Chandler Antczak is a freshman, at Sacred Heart University from Kendall Park, NJ. She is an accounting major and a member of the Thomas Moore Honors Program. Chandler is a member of the SHU Varsity Women’s Soccer Team. She is involved in campus ministry, and works at the Discovery Magnet School as a kindergarten teacher’s assistant. Chandler is a member of the Accounting Club and volunteers with her soccer teammates weekly at the Dunbar school in Bridgeport, acting as a mentor and assisting children in the class room. Chandler is a student member of the NJSCPA and was awarded a scholarship to pursue her accounting degree. Chandler has a mentor with the NJSCPA and will be participating in the Scholars’ Institute which is a two day residency program designed for career development. Chandler plans to continue her graduate education at Sacred Heart and become a CPA. She continues to play soccer with the Millburn Magic WPSL League in Morristown NJ during her summers and works at IAK United Soccer academy as a soccer coach. Chandler would love to pursue a career with a professional athletic team. |

Nicole Gittleman, a freshman at Sacred Heart University from Hillsdale, New Jersey, graduated from an all girls’ private Catholic high school, Immaculate Heart Academy, and is now pursuing a major in Marketing with a concentration in Sports Marketing. She is a member of the Chi Omega sorority and the chapter's Historian Chair working with sorority headquarters, A.Y.A.A. (Are You Autism Aware), Habitat for Humanity, and Marketing Club. She enjoys community service and received a grant at Sacred Heart University to continue her service efforts. Nicole is also a member of the club golf and club volleyball teams. She works in Alumni Relations as an assistant, helping create better experiences for Sacred Heart University alumni at yearly events. Nicole is the Treasurer of her freshman class and is an active member of Student Government. |
