Janet Steinmayer is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Appleseed Food Frontiers, a business accelerator and investment firm chiefly supporting expansion-stage consumer packaged good food companies. Before that, Janet was the President and CEO of Centerplate, Inc., the fifth largest food service company in North America, with over $800 million in revenues and 28,000 employees. There she led the company to customize services for its sports and entertainment clients, drive clients’ branding, and introduce local products to create a sense of place, resulting in record new business and profitability.
Janet began her career as a corporate lawyer and was general counsel at Trans World Airlines, then a Fortune 500 company, when it was owned by the Icahn organization. She graduated from Bryn Mawr College, where she serves on its Board of Trustees, and the University of Chicago Law School. She also serves on the boards of Command Security Corporation, an NYSE-traded company, the Eagle Hill Southport School, where she is Chairman, Lesley University and The Business Council of Fairfield County.
