Ms. Catino is a veteran health care executive and distinguished entrepreneur with more than 30 years of health care industry experience. She has been selected-three times-by NJBIZ as one of New Jersey’s 50 Best Women in Business, as well as recognized by the American College of Health Executives with the 2009 Regent’s Leadership Award. In 2010 she was named as one of the Top 50 Most Powerful People in Health Care in New Jersey by NJBIZ.
Ms. Catino Founded QualCare, Inc. in 1991 under the sponsorship of St. Clare’s-Riverside Medical Center in Denville, New Jersey. In 1993 and 1995, she reorganized QualCare, converting it to a stock corporation, to further grow the company. QualCare is the managed healthcare subsidiary of QualCare Alliance Networks, Inc.
Today, QualCare is New Jersey’s largest provider-sponsored, managed care company, owned by 12 healthcare systems and physician organizations. QualCare serves more than 750,000 customers, through a network of more than 100 hospitals and 20,000 physicians.
Ms. Catino is also the Chairman of the Board of Alterra, Inc., a subsidiary of QualCare Alliance Networks, Inc. Alterra is the parent, holding company of Scibal Associates, Inc., a workers’ compensation third party administrator and Incentives Group, Inc., a workers’ compensation managed care entity.
She holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting and Business Administration from Montclair State University and an MBA in Health Care Administration from Bernard Baruch College, Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, CUNY.
Ms. Catino’s health care expertise is highly sought after, working closely with various health care associations and State Agencies to shape New Jersey’s health care industry. She has served as a member of the Governor’s Task Force on HealthCare through several administrations and was recently appointed to Governor-Elect Christopher Christie’s Transition Sub-Committee on Health Care.
She is a Board Member of the Middlesex Water Company (MSEX-Nasdaq), Northfield Bank Corp. (NFBK-Nasdaq) and Caucus NJ Educational Corp. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Cancer Institute of New Jersey and the Val Skinner Foundation. Ms. Catino has also served as the Committee Chair for the Meridian Health Care Perspective luncheon for several years.
