About Us

  • SHRM@SHU is run by graduate students on a volunteer basis to provide networking opportunities and professional career development for all students interested in the dynamic world of human resources. Our student chapter conducts regular meetings and plans events to help students learn how to make a meaningful impact in human resources and succeed in their future business careers.
  • Elected student officers run the SHRM@SHU chapter with the assistance of a chapter advisor. We invite members of the local business community to share their knowledge with students about their experiences in business and identify key issues that affect their workforce. In addition to regular meetings, our chapter organizes fundraisers, workshops, seminars and other activities. Upcoming events include an HR focused TED-style talk for students as well as a Resume Revamp event where professionals will give tips to students that will give them the edge when job seeking. Activities like these allow students to gain greater insight into human resource management while building relationships with local professionals, members of the business community, and other students.
  • More than 450 affiliated SHRM student chapters operate on university campuses throughout the United States. SHRM@SHU is proud to become one of its newest affiliates. Speak to your advisor or contact us for more information.
