The SHU Semester in Luxembourg program is designed specifically for sophomores. Students can spend their spring semester studying abroad at Sacred Heart University Luxembourg, a well-established campus in the heart of the European Union.
SHU Luxembourg is located in the Chamber of Commerce, in the heart of the city’s financial district. The campus was established in 1991 as a SHU MBA site, and also hosts SHU’s undergraduate summer study abroad program. Students are taught by SHU faculty from our Fairfield campus and by European faculty who reside in or around Luxembourg.
The program is available each spring semester, from mid-January through early May. Six courses are available, from which students choose five for a typical 15-credit semester. Courses are designed to provide a European perspective, where applicable, to provide students a deep understanding of European markets, institutions and culture.
Courses offered during a typical semester include:
- TRS 265 Introduction to World Religions
- EC 203 Principles of Macroeconomics
- MK 201 Principles of Marketing
- PO 313 The Politics of European Integration
- MGT 278 Principles of International Business
- AC 222 Managerial Accounting
- or FN 215 Financial Management
In addition to weekend excursions to Paris, Amsterdam and/or other European cities, corporate visits have included:
- European Union
- Bofferding Brewery
- RTL (Radio TV Luxembourg
