The Education Club is recognized university-wide for its energy, enthusiasm, participation and leadership and received the SHU Best Club award for 2014-15. Club members, advised by Professor Mike Giarratano, designed and delivered a technology conference to more than 50 high school students/future educators, members of Today’s Students Tomorrow’s Teachers (TSTT) on November 20, 2014. Club volunteers greeted, registered and generally supported the CAPP Breakfast for Educators in March. In addition, the Ed Club collected pencils and distributed to needy children in a project called Pencils for Promise. They held a club fundraiser at Moe’s Southwest Grill and plan another in fall 2016. The Club was founded by Kim Woodruff ‘14, later led by Francesca Bruno ’15 and we expect great things from its next president, Colleen O’Melia. Please join us in congratulating this talented and ‘slated for success’ group.
