International Academic Partnership Program to Norway
Sacred Heart University was one of 12 higher education institutions selected to participate in the Norwegian Centre for International Collaboration in Education’s (SIU) and the Institute of International Education’s (IIE) combined initiative to expand U.S.-Norwegian engagement and foster strategic university partnerships. During the eight-month International Academic Partnership Program (IAPP), IIE’s Center for International Partnerships in Higher Education guided the institutions through a strategic planning process and training activities designed to assist them in implementing and sustaining partnerships with counterparts in Norway. The partnership program offered timely resources for campuses in both countries to explore areas of academic cooperation, including exchanging students and scholars and collaborating on research projects and degree programs.
Project Draoicht (Project Enchantment) brings together the Sacred Heart University with three Irish third-level institutions. SHU is the first American university to make this type of investment in Ireland. Parterning institutions include Cork Institute of Technology, the Institute of Technology Tralee, and University College Cork.
