Teach at SHU in Dingle or Luxembourg

Sacred Heart operates two global campuses, one in Dingle, Ireland and the other in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg.  Faculty have the opportunity to teach a short-term course at either of the campuses.  Faculty interested in teaching at the Dingle campus should contact Dr. Gerald Reid.  Opportunities in Dingle are available during the winter and summer terms. 

Faculty interested in teaching in Luxembourg should contact the Office of Global Affairs. Opportunities in Luxembourg are available during the summer term. A call for courses is placed each December.  Proposals are due March 1st for the following year.  Please be sure to plan ahead and contact the appropriate representative a year before you would like to teach a course abroad.

Partner Opportunities

Opportunities for teaching, visiting scholars, and research are available at several of our partner institutions abroad.

John Cabot University

From time to time, John Cabot University puts out a request for adjunct teaching faculty from partner institutions for summer courses. Requests will be distributed to the faculty as they are received.

Mary Immaculate College

Sacred Heart and Mary Immaculate College may collaborate on faculty exchanges between their institutions. Arrangements are made through mutually agreeable terms. Areas of special interest for both intuitions are Theology, Religious Studies, Education, and other departments. Opportunities for collaboration include connecting classes through online technology, and faculty exchange. Faculty exchange includes full semester exchange, as well as aligning course schedules for short-term exchange.  For more information about the availability of this opportunity please contact the Office of Global Affairs.  Please note: such exchanges require a lot of planning so please plan at least a year in advance.

Webster University

Sacred Heart and Webster University may collaborate on faculty exchanges between their institutions.  Arrangements are made through mutually agreeable terms. The two institutions will mutually identify and approve designated faculty from SHU to teach and/or conduct research at a Webster Study Abroad location. Sacred Heart will permit and/or approve one or several of its faculty to be visiting scholars or teach courses, as mutually agreed upon by both institutions, at one or several of Webster’s international campuses. The selection or designation of this faculty exchange will be determined by Sacred Heart in coordination with vacancies or opportunities at Webster International.
