Professor Melodia has been an adjunct faculty member at Sacred Heart University since 2004. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Bridgeport. She continued her education and received her Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Sacred Heart University. She received the Academic Excellence Award in Nursing and the Alumni Community Award from Sacred Heart University. She presently is pursuing her Doctorate in Nursing Practice at Oakland University. Her research area of interest involves implementation of quality improvement, based on culture-change methodology.
Professor Melodia is presently teaching two core courses in GHW: Health and Wellness in Later Life and Chronic Illness and Frailty in Later Life. She has strong clinical background with the focus of her practice on elder care and community health. For the past 15 years Professor Melodia has been the Administrator at Partners In Care, Inc., a subsidiary of the Visiting Nurse Services of Connecticut.
