The Pioneer Performance Center is a proud partner of the Employee Wellness Program at SHU and offers the following classes:

Run Strong 

A completely customized group exercise class developed for the recreational and competitive runner. Our program begins with our unique Running Movement Assessment to determine areas that you can target with a resistance training program. We aim to provide a motivational and educational environment during your four 1-hour sessions. The goal is that you graduate from our 4-week class with an improved understanding of your musculoskeletal strengths and weaknesses, knowledge about your own running form and with a resistance training routine that you can continue at home. Improved musculoskeletal strength is critical for the runners to help prevent injuries and to improve their running efficiency. This class was designed to target areas that are essential for runners. Golf Strong Class

A completely customized group exercise class developed for the recreational and competitive golfer. Our program begins with a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Movement Screen to determine areas that you can target with a resistance training program and a professional swing evaluation. We aim to provide a motivational and educational environment during your four 1-hour sessions. Upon completion of the program, you will have an improved understanding of your musculoskeletal strengths and weaknesses, knowledge about your golfing technique, and with a resistance training routine that you can continue at home to improve your golf game in the off-season. Musculoskeletal strength and movement efficiency are critical for injury prevention and improved performance in golf. This class was designed to target areas that are essential for golf. HABIT (Hips, Abs, Butt, and Incredible Thighs)

This core-specific class uses a mix of body weight and resistance exercises to work on the most critical component of the body. While most associate "6-pack abs" when they hear about a core class however that is not the main goal of our class. The exercises performed are meant to maximize function for your daily needs and routines. 

Classes are open to all ability levels and designed to appropriately challenge the individual. Limited to 6 participants per class session, you will get the personal attention you need while enjoying a group exercise atmosphere.

TRX Suspension Training

"Born in the Navy SEALs, Suspension Training body weight exercise develops strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. It requires the use of the TRX Suspension Trainer, a highly portable performance training tool that leverages gravity and the user’s body weight to complete hundreds of exercises."- TRXtraining.com

Classes are open to all ability levels and designed to appropriately challenge the individual. Limited to 6 participants per class session, you will get the personal attention you need while enjoying a group exercise atmosphere.

Kettlebell

Kettlebell training involves a cast-iron ball that attaches to a think handle. The participant performs a wide-variety of exercises with 1-2 kettlebells that maximizes the workout without having to switch equipment. This class is geared for a more experienced exercise enthusiast. Example exercises can be found here.

Limited to 6 participants per class session, you will get the personal attention you need while enjoying a group exercise atmosphere.

Boot Camp

Boot Camp is an exciting mix of nine different stations that target all areas of fitness. Participants will expect to have cardiovascular, resistance, strength, core, and muscular endurance training during this session.

Classes are open to all ability levels and designed to appropriately challenge the individual. Limited to 9 participants per class session, you will get the personal attention you need while enjoying a group exercise atmosphere.

WOW (Workout Of the Week)

To keep the repetitive monotony away, this unique class changes every week to one of the four other group exercise classes we offer. Expect the unexpected and be ready to enjoy a different workout every time.

Classes are open to experienced ability levels and designed to appropriately challenge the individual. Limited to 6 participants per class session, you will get the personal attention you need while enjoying a group exercise atmosphere.
