In my previous research with fellow classmates, we surveyed a sample of 250 Sacred Heart University students to determine the attitudes of the overall student population towards the Walnut Beach Creamery before it opened on campus. Using a statistical software program, SPSS, we were able to manipulate variables and observe significant relationships among the data in order to generate recommendations for successful operation of the creamery. We recommended that the creamery be open on specific days and times of the week, and that it attract the attention of the SHU population by marketing the fact that its products are homemade. Continuing with this research on my own, I have surveyed a sample of Sacred Heart University students and professors to determine their general attitudes toward the creamery and its products since its opening on January 23, 2013. Using the same statistical software program, I observe significant relationships among variables to be used in further recommendations for the creamery’s overall success.
